Happy 2008!

Just a few more hours and 2007 will be over. Finished. Kaput. Was it a good one? You bet. Not that it was without trials or tribulations, hurts or pain. But God is good. He provides so much and give us the strength to handle times when He takes away. I have two layouts tonight. The first is a Christmas one, of our great-granddaughter at the family celebration on Christmas Eve. I used Six White Bloomers Christmas Kit by JulieCohen, available at Stone Accents Studio right now for 50 percent off.

This next one is my favorite quotation. I am not sure where it came from. It was handwritten on a piece of paper I found among some old photos a long time ago. I used Stellarific Creations kit Snowflake Blues, also available at Stone Accents Studio.

And now, I bid you goodnight. Have a happy and healthy New Year, and may God continue to bless you in the new year.

Christmas is Over

The decorations are still up, and we still have some Christmas cookies left, but the excitement is all over. We will have to wait another year (except for Christmas in July, of course) to do it again. I got more Christmas pix today from both my daughter and son, but haven't done any Christmas Day layouts yet. But, I did do a couple of LOs from CanDesigns fabulous kits.

Happy Holidays!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Ours was fabulous. Christmas really is all about the kids, and the star of this Christmas was our great granddaughter, who is almost 3-1/2. She was much more understanding this year that every gift was not for her, but she still wanted to help open them all. Her enthusiasm and excitement over every gift she got (or gave) was contagious, as she squealed and giggled and clapped at the joy of it all. Oh to be a child again! I have tons of pictures and hope to get more as our daughter sends me hers, but in the meantime, I did this one with the Sunshiny Days kit by DarleneH from Stone Accents Studio. I will have some Christmas LOs soon.

The Home Stretch

Well, less than a week to go. Are you ready? We send very few Christmas cards, opting instead to send a donation to the local homeless shelter, but I did get those cards done and in the mail. Tomorrow is our Church group Christmas party at a local restaurant, and afterwards everyone is coming to our house for dessert. I have been baking, and except for picking up some caffeine-free coffee, we are ready. I did have time for another layout with the fabulous December Megakit from Stone Accents Studio. This kit has so many beautiful papers and elements! Get it while it is on sale at 34 percent off!

Blizzard!

They predicted a big snow storm for this weekend, but, well, yeah, it's always going to snow somewhere but we always seem to get a few pretty flakes that stick and then melt and it's over. But not this time! It started Saturday morning and snowed all day. By bedtime, it had stopped and we had about 6 inches. Then it rained a little and then started snowing again. By the time we got up, it was still coming down hard. You could see where the road had been plowed at some point, but the snow was deep in the street and it was hard to see where the driveways were. We got up and went to church anyway, and there were a few brave souls there. It was easy to get a table at our favorite restaurant for brunch with the only other couple in our group who made it to church. They said it would continue to snow all day, but we called the neighbor kids to come over with their snowblower so we could get the worst of it off. By the time they got here at 2, it had stopped, and now the sun is shining. I took some pictures so maybe if I can get the few Christmas cards I send finished, I will scrap them later today. In the meantime, here is one I did with the gorgeous new, soon-to-be-released December Megakit from Stone Accents Studio.

Hurry, Hurry

That seems to be the motto for this time of year. Hurry, Hurry. I hate to shop, and I hate the crowds. Bah Humbug. But I do love Christmas. The real Christmas. The spirit of Christmas. The whole holiday season, to tell the truth.
Anyway, we never did get the big snowstorm that was forcast for Sunday. We got a lot of rain and the snow has almost all melted away. It is cold and damp and foggy today though. I did get a few more LOs done.
This first is of our GGD in front of her grandma's flower garden. I used Booland Designs kit Anemone, available at Stone Accents Studio.

This one is of our grandson and his girlfriend at Thanksgiving. They are such a cute couple. I used Tuscan Sunset by JulieO, from Stone Accents Studio.

And last, but not least, my beautiful niece and her husband. I used Sunshiny Day by DarleneH for this one.

Be Careful What You Wish For

Yep, my wish came true. BUT, hey, didn't I say no snow on Wednesday because we had to drive to the City? We got over 2 inches of snow and then more again last night. They are predicting more for tomorrow but say the Big Storm will arrive on Sunday. Oh boy.

I have two pieces of news. First, I won the November Life History Challenge at Stone Accents Studio for my Truly Thankful layout (see Nov 18 post). Then I was so surprised to find out that my Sisters equal Love layout was selected as the Layout of the Day on December 5th at Nuts4Digi. Check it out here.

In the meantime, I have a few more for you. This one was done with Vintage Christmas by DarleneH, available at Stone Accents Studio.

This next one was created with JulieO's new kit, Tuscan Sunset. The elements and papers are so elegant.

And last, but not least, two layouts of our first snow of the season scrapped with JulieO's newest kit, Feelin Frosty. LOVE this kit.

And if you are looking for some great freebies, check out the Designer Contest at Stone Accents Studio. The theme for Round 2 is Christmas. There are 17 fabulous kits. Download the ones your like, and vote here for your favorite. Voting is open until Sunday at 7pm EST.

One More...

Another LO, this time using Vintage Christmas by Darlene Haughan, available at Stone Accents Studio.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

Ok, I'm ready. Well, maybe not tomorrow because we have to drive some friends to the City about 75 miles away, but anytime after that is good for me. LOL. My SIL, well actually both my SILs, who live in Florida, delight in telling me they spent the day at the pool, and had to turn on the airconditioning because it was so hot. If we have to be cold, I WANT SNOW! The weather has been so weird that one day it is warm and then it is freezing. We shut off the water system to the yard back in October, but my husband has had to mow the grass several times since then because it just won't quit growing. LOL. Anyway, a new layout with Booland Designs kit, Anemone, from Stone Accents Studio. The photo is of my niece, Dawn. Isn't she beautiful!

It's Beginning to Look...

a lot like Christmas, all around the house. We got all our inside decorations done, and part of the outside ones... because, frankly, Baby, it's cold outside! I still need to do my Christmas cards, and a Christmas letter for those far away, and I will be done. YEAH! Oh, well, maybe a few odds and ends. And, I want to make some pumpkin bread and some other Christmas goodies. But, in the meantime, I did have time to scrap one LO with the beautiful Paper Blitz megakit by Booland Designs, available at Stone Accents Studio.
